James William Coomans

I was born on Tuesday, 7th April, 1998 at 8.45am, at Jamison Hospital in Penrith, NSW. I am the second child of Fiona and Herman, and first sibling to my brother John. This photo is me about 2 hours old.

I weighed 4090 grams at birth, which is 9lbs in the old money. I was 21.5 inches long, and have all of my bits and pieces intact.

I was born by ceasarean section, which was planned beforehand (rather than being the emergency kind), and everything went really well, although I must say that those doctors play pretty rough. They certainly get the job done though (see below!).

The photo on the right is me being born. The man on the right is the obstetrican who mum sees (he's really good). The lower half of me is still inside mum at this point. The nurse on the left is in the process of suctioning out my mouth, which is all very undignified.

And finally at left is me in my Oma's arms (that's Dutch for Grandma, in case ya don't know), and my brother John taking his first look at me. He's got some reservations, but I'm sure we'll work it out. We all look forward to seeing you sometime soon!
